When this guy can win a competition at Adult Advanced Ill give him credit…all he can do is beat 50 year olds in the masters tournaments….
Having gotten to know Carlos Catania for a few months, I can say he is a fantastic coach with heart. My bet is that Anthony Argyros must be a phenomenal competitor. And, he just earned his BJJ Black Belt from Carlos. What an amazing accomplishment! Congratulations
I think he did win adult advanced. It says on the stat sheet for 2007 Sambo Open. Actually there are a few adult advanced in that paragraph. Hard to read. It is all thrown together.
Strong as hell. He beat me in Ohio in 2005 in the finals at Relsons. I was only 19 at the time, but he did anklelock me.
I lost to Anthony, too. I thought he ripped my leg in half. This was like 8 or 9 years ago. He was an animal back then. He looks relaxed these days when he competes….almost like his intensity is all gone.
He’s legit older BJJ Blackbelt. Saw him at Nogi PAN AMS win a couple of medals. There were 4th and 5th degree BJJ Blackbelts in his divisions. Not much of a natural athlete but he is a grinder. Tough guy.
