Embarrassing Career Memory: “Would have been if I didn’t make it out of the first round at USA, when I misjudged the line because of the shade. I misjudged the line and got third in the prelims of the 100 dash at Oregon. And if I wouldn’t have made it to the final I think I would’ve…the only thing kept crossing my mind was I was gonna be on the Bloopers. Because the first round I stopped at the wrong line and everyone passed me. So that would have been my most embarrassing moment.”
Favorite Sports To Watch Outside Track: “Probably football. I played baseball as well but probably football.”
Favorite Athletes To Watch: “Randy Moss, but I don’t watch a lot of people now. But I’m kind of old school so my favorite players are like, I used to like watching Barry Sanders, Deion Sanders, Rickey Henderson stealing bases. Jamal Mashburn – he went to University of Kentucky. Mike Tyson is my favorite boxer. Agassi when he was on top. I used to play tennis in the summertime in Florida when I was younger. Tiger Woods.”
Track Inspirations: “Maurice Green was the first person I paid attention to in track. Jesse Owens.”
Funny Track Memory: “Aaron Armstrong, he runs for Trinidad. He’s hilarious. He’s probably the only person I know – and we’re still trying to work on it and we’re gonna try and contact some people some way, some how, so he can get into contact with somebody and get his own show. Do some kind of Internet. I kid you not, he’s just naturally funny. He’s hilarious. Just off the head funny. He is the only person that finds something funny out of nothing that’s not funny [laughs]. Every day is something new with him.”
Most Memorable Race: “The 200 at World Championships in 2007 when I won the 200. It’s the most memorable race because I was so tired, I was fatigued, depleted, I had no energy. But I still put it all together and came out with the victory.”
People Qualities Most Admired: “I like to see fearless in people. I like to see wise, people who are real wise.”
