Childhood Ambition: To be a dentist.
Football Inspirations: Mean Joe Greene, Jack Lambert, Mike Singletary, Lawrence Taylor.
Early Football Memory: I was a quarterback in pee-wee football. I always wanted to be quarterback. They’re the leaders, they make the calls. It didn’t work out because I didn’t have the arm. I also played wide receiver my senior year in high school.
Little-known fact: Junior had a 3.6 GPA in high school.
Greatest Sports Moment: 1990 Rose Bowl, when the last play on fourth down was a sack versus Michigan and we won.
Funniest Player Encountered: Dan Saleaumua. He’s just a bubbly guy all the time. It’s not a thing where he wakes up and says he’s going to be funny today. He’s funny every day.
Toughest Competitor Encountered: Anthony Munoz.
Closest NFL Friends: Warren Moon, Ronnie Lott.
First Job: NFL linebacker.
First Car: 1987 red Dodge Ram truck.
Favorite Movie: No Way Out. A great movie.
Favorite Movie As A Kid: Grease. I like the soundtrack. It’s innocent, fun to watch.
Favorite Meal: Pasta with garlic bread.
Favorite Breakfast Cereal: Grape Nuts.
Favorite Ice Cream Flavor: Pistachio.
Favorite Non-Football Sport To Watch: Basketball.
Favorite Athletes To Watch: John McEnroe. He’s just such a very competitive person. Sometimes he crosses the line. His will to win is satisfying to me. I can respect it. Michael Jordan. Gail Devers. She overcame a lot.
Favorite TV Show: Sanford & Son.
Hobbies/Interests: Water sports, jet skiing, surfing.
Interesting Fact: I can’t handle rollercoasters. I have no control of it. It gets to me. That’s kind of surprising when you look at what I do for a living.
Future Ambitions: To be the greatest father I can for my kid, and be a good role model.
Person/People Most Admired: My dad (Tianina). He taught us about morals, values and goals. Having a tight-knit family was important to him. He raised six kids.
