The Vancouver Canucks are atop the NHL for the first time since 2004 and anyone doing onling betting at online betting at betus.com knows they are the greatest threat to the so called three-peat Stanley Cup Finals
rematch between the Detroit Red Wings and Pittsburgh Penguins.
The past Monday (Jan. 31), the Canucks debuted a player than many local fans are familiar with and have been waiting to see for years – Cody Hodgson.
Hodgson was the tenth pick in the 2008 NHL Draft and at that time – and many times since after – the Canucks fan base has been licking their chops at the possibility of adding another skilled forward to what is already one of the highest-scoring teams in the NHL.
Hodgson made his debut with the Canucks on Monday, except many fans were surprised to see him make it on the fourth line. Alex Bolduc is hurt for the second time this season, which has opened the door for Hodgson to get his first taste of NHL action and to earn a regular roster position with the club.
The Canucks defeated the Dallas Stars 4-1 on Tuesday, then one night later Hodgson scored his first NHL goal against the Phoenix Coyotes.
As a fourth-liner playing approximately ten minutes per game, Hodgson is already making an immediate impact. His offensive talents are expected to earn him more playing time as the Canucks hit the stretch drive which will culminate with the start of the NHL playoffs in April.
The Canucks plan to showcase Hodgson on the second power play unit, which will give him extra opportunity to display his renowned offensive skill set.
The Canucks are now 33-10-9 on the season and have lost just three times in regulation over the last 32 contests. They next play on Friday night against the defending Stanley Cup Champions Chicago Blackhawks.
