Status: New Orleans Saints tight end.

HT: 6-5 WT: 251

DOB: August 18, 1980 In: Ada, Oklahoma

Football Inspirations: ”Walter Payton definitely is an inspiration – life and football.”

Nicknames: ”Everybody calls me by my last name, no real nicknames.”

Hobbies/Interests: ”Golf, fish, play video games, stuff like that.”

Favorite Movies: ”Godfather, One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, Caddyshack, Stanley Kubrick movies…I could keep going on and keep going [smiles]”

Favorite TV Shows: ”Seinfeld, Cops, Unsolved Mysteries.”

Musical Tastes: ”I like old classical stuff – The Doors, Grateful Dead, stuff like that.”

First Football Memory: ”Probably the first time in 7th grade, just the experience of the first year, going out there and playing and competing against other people.”

First Job: ”This one right here [laughs].”

First Car: ”[Laughs] Jeep. (Color?) White.”

Current Car: “Original Hummer (black).”

Last Book Read: ”Was ‘Killing Pablo’ (The Hunt for the World’s Greatest Outlaw by Mark Bowden).”

Favorite Meal: ”Favorite meal? Wow. You got me. I don’t even know. Too many.”

Favorite Breakfast Cereal: ”[Laughs] I don’t eat cereal, man.”

Favorite Ice Cream Flavor: ”Vanilla.”

Greatest Sports Moment: ”Winning the Super Bowl.”

Most Painful Moment: “Losing.”

Pre-Game Feeling: ”I just, you know, just go out there and execute and learning all my plays and going out there and playing and putting it all out on the field.”

Dream Position: ”Just being a player and being able to be on the field. And not a reverse where all other people are cheering or coaching – I like to be playing the game.”

Favorite Uniforms: “I like the…Dallas Cowboys [laughs].”

Closest NFL Friends: ”I’m close with everybody. The offense, a lot of the offensive linemen. A lot of people.”

Funniest Players Encountered: ”[Pause]…Steve Smith’s pretty funny [smiles]. Steve Smith’s a funny dude.”

Toughest Competitors Encountered: ”Michael Strahan. Other guys in the league who are very competitive…I would just leave it at Mike. And Antonio Pierce.”

Funny Football Memory: ”Not really, man, I don’t have that many. (What about the one time as a kid you ate dirt on the field after a defeat – to remind of how much you hated the “taste” of losing?) No, that’s not funny. Who said that was funny? (Melissa Stark told the story on Monday Night Football.) Yeah, but that wasn’t funny. (It was funny to hear it.) It wasn’t funny for me. It’s bad tasting [smiles]. Ah, funny football memory. Man, I don’t know dude. Football is really not that funny to me.”

Last Vacation: ”Was South America, Carnaval Brazil and I went to Argentina after that.”

Favorite Athletes To Watch: ”I like to watch everybody who makes plays in football and any sport. I don’t really single anybody out, just try to watch everybody and just see how they compete.”

Childhood Dream: ”Just being successful in life. Not in football or any athletics or anything, just going out there and making a name and whatever you do, having a job and doing it successful.”

People Qualities Most Admired: ”Hard-workers. Determination. People that stand up and do their own thing.”

College: Miami.
