About Mark “Scoop” Malinowski »

Scoop created the innovative “Biofile” feature in 1992 (word trademarked). Born in Philadelphia, Scoop grew up revering Roberto Duran, Bobby Clarke, Paul Holmgren, Pete Rose, Dr. J, Rocky Balboa, Ali, Frazier, Foreman and Norton. He has been featured in The New York Times and Sports Illustrated.

His first book “Heavyweight Armageddon! The Tyson-Lewis Championship Battle” was published in 2008 and was called “A smashing success,” by Hall of Famer Emanuel Steward, “One of the two best boxing books I’ve ever read.” John McEnroe also read it and commented to the author at a 2009 World Team Tennis practice from the Randall’s Island court, “Scoop, I really liked your book.”

The Teaneck, NJ resident has conducted over 2,500 Biofile interviews and contributed Biofiles for The Ring, Boxing Digest, Fightnews.com, ATPWorldTour.com, BoxingInsider.com, Boxing News U.K., World Boxing Japan, The Fist (Australia), Boxing World (South Africa) as well as The New York Post, The New York Daily News, Orange County Register, MLB.com, The Sporting News, NASCAR Scene, Tennis Week, Track and Field News, Full Contact Fighter, Auto Racing Digest, Hockey Digest, Basketball Times, Baseball America, Don King publications, South Asian Life and Times, Allaboutjazz.com, Kitesurf Magazine, Al Goldstein’s SCREW, TheHockeyNews.com, DirecTV Guide, Olympian, The Aquarian Arts Weekly, The Daily Racing Form, Trot Magazine, Hoof Beats, among others.

In April 2010, Scoop co-founded and operates the tennis web site www.Tennis-prose.com with colleagues Dan Markowitz, Richard Pagliaro and Dan C. Weil.

Scoop, who calls himself Scoop because he says every single Biofile always delivers at least one scoop, hopes some day to Biofile President Clinton, Muhammad Ali, Tiger Woods, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Rod Laver, Wayne Gretzky, Steven Spielberg, Marcelo Rios, Donald Fagen, Charlie Rose, Jerry Seinfeld and Mike Tyson. And if they ever invent a time machine, Scoop will Biofile Elvis, Charlie Chaplin, Jack Dempsey, Babe Ruth, Jackie Robinson, Princess Diana, Al Jolson, Ernest Hemingway, Jack Johnson, Suzanne Lenglen, Stanley Kubrick, Orson Welles and Boris Karloff.

His next book is scheduled to be published in the summer of 2011 and will be about the enigmatic and controversial former No. 1-ranked tennis player Marcelo Rios from Chile - “Marcelo Rios: The Man We Barely Knew.”

And, last but not least, Scoop’s favorite ice cream flavor is chocolate marshmallow.
